A recent study found that nearly 40% of Toyota vehicles have been recalled due to a faulty engine.
Toyota has been testing the replacement of the Takata airbag inflator, but the company says there is no risk to public safety and says it has found no significant damage to vehicle components.
The company is working to resolve the issue, which affected nearly 200,000 vehicles in the United States, as well as in Europe, Japan and China.
Takata issued a statement saying that it “strongly regrets” the problems affecting the Takahashi airbag and Takata Auto Service.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to our customers and are working to improve the safety of our customers,” the company said.
In addition, Takata said it has ordered additional parts and will replace affected airbags.
If you are concerned about a recall, you should contact your local auto parts store.
